These terms apply when you use UniConnect.Africa (https://uniconnect.africa), including our guides and community features. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
UniConnect.Africa publishes educational information about scholarships, university admissions, studying abroad, student visas and careers for African students. We are not a scholarship provider, university, visa agent or immigration adviser, and we do not process applications on anyone’s behalf.
Our content is general guidance. It is not legal, immigration, financial or professional advice. Scholarship rules, deadlines, fees and visa requirements change, and they differ between providers and countries. Always confirm current requirements with the official scholarship provider, university or government source before you act.
We do not guarantee that using our guides will result in a scholarship, admission, visa or job. Selection decisions are made by independent providers.
UniConnect.Africa will never ask you to pay a fee to receive, release or secure a scholarship, and will never ask you to send passports, bank details, passwords or one-time codes. Anyone making such a request in our name is not acting for us. See our guide to scholarship scams and report impersonation to hello@uniconnect.africa.
If you have a member account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
When you post comments, profile information or community activity, you agree not to:
We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
You keep ownership of the content you post. By posting it, you give UniConnect.Africa a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute it on the site. You confirm that you have the right to post it.
The guides, text, images and branding on this site belong to UniConnect.Africa or its licensors. You may read, share links to and quote short extracts from our guides with credit and a link to the original page. You may not republish whole articles or use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you without written permission.
Our guides link to scholarship providers, universities, government sites and other third parties. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep information accurate and up to date, but we do not warrant that it is complete, current or error-free, or that the site will always be available. To the extent permitted by law, UniConnect.Africa is not liable for losses arising from your use of the site or from decisions you make based on its content, including missed deadlines, unsuccessful applications or dealings with third parties.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.

UniConnect.Africa is an international education platform for African students. Our website address is https://uniconnect.africa. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the site, why we collect it and the choices you have.
When you leave a comment we collect the data shown in the comment form, together with your IP address and browser user agent string, to help detect spam. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public alongside your comment.
If you have a member account, we store the information you provide in your profile, such as your name, username, email address and profile photo, along with the activity you post in the community and your notification settings. Profile information and activity you choose to publish may be visible to other members and visitors. You can view, edit or delete your profile information at any time, except that you cannot change your username. Site administrators can also see and edit that information.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site, for example which guides are read most. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type. We use this information in aggregate to improve our content. You can learn how Google handles this data at https://policies.google.com/privacy and opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
If you upload images to the site, avoid images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Other visitors can download images and extract any location data from them.
If you leave a comment you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies, so that you do not have to fill in your details again. These cookies last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we set cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days and screen options cookies for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login persists for two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.
Google Analytics sets its own cookies as described above.
Articles may include embedded content such as videos or images from other websites. Embedded content behaves as if you had visited the other website, which may collect data about you, use cookies and track your interaction with that content. Our guides also link to scholarship providers, universities and government websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
We do not sell personal data. Data is processed on our behalf by our website hosting provider and by Google (analytics). Comments may be checked by an automated spam detection service. If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email.
Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so that we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically. Member profile information is kept for as long as the account exists. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings.
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can ask for an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have given us. You can also ask us to correct or erase your personal data. This does not include data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.
UniConnect.Africa publishes guidance only. We do not process scholarship or university applications and we will never ask you to send passports, transcripts, bank details or payments to us. Always apply through the official provider. See our guide to scholarship scams.
We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised.
